The Benefits of Learning How to Code Layouts with CSS

Jen Simmons makes a strong case for picking up hand-coding again (unless you’ve always shied away from frameworks) and learning the ins-and-outs of CSS layouts, including using CSS Grid and Flexbox on top of the usual, older methods for laying out websites. Now that CSS Grid is supported in Firefox—and coming soon to Chrome and Safari—I’m thinking about investing some serious time into taking my skills to the next level.
